February’s Color Challenge is bursting with bright, cheerful colors—Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, and Daffodil Delight—so I knew I had to create something playful and fun! What better way to bring these colors to life than with the new Darling Dinos Bundle from the Spring Mini Catalog? These adorable dinosaurs and this color combo are perfect for a little girl’s birthday card! Keep reading to see how quickly and easily you can make this card too!
Card Dimensions & Layers
- Card Base: Basic White Thick – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Main Layer: Beautiful Bokeh Designer Paper – 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Accent Strip: Flirty Flamingo – 3-3/4″ x 1″
- Focal Layers:
- Melon Mambo – 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″
- Basic White – 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
- Extras: Scraps of Basic White for stamped images and sentiment
- Envelope: Brights Designer Paper – 6″ x 2-1/2″
Quick & Easy Instructions
- Stamp the dinosaur image and three balloons, then color them with Stampin’ Blends.
- Die-cut the images using the Darling Dinos Dies.
- Stamp the sentiment and fussy cut it with scissors.
- Adhere all layers, images, and sentiment as shown in the picture, using your favorite adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals for added dimension. (TIP: Attach white twine to the balloons for strings before securing them to the card for a fun, finished look.)
- For a decorative envelope, adhere the Brights Designer Paper to the flap and trim excess.
I had so much fun creating this card that I couldn’t stop at just one! I made a boy version by swapping Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo for Pool Party and Azure Afternoon, giving it a fresh and fun twist while keeping the same playful design. I also created a third card with a completely different layout, showing just how versatile the Darling Dinos Bundle can be! It’s amazing how changing up colors and layouts can give you endless creative possibilities.
