Today’s card was inspired by my team’s color challenge. Even though I don’t always get to participate each month, I love doing them! They really inspire my creativity! The colors we were given are Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Night of Navy, and Whisper White. When I first saw the colors, I thought Christmas! My plan was to use the wreath from the Wishing You Well stamp set and make a Christmas card. But since I have made SO many Christmas cards already, I decided I wanted to do something different.

I ended up staying with the Wishing You Well set but decided to use the other images. I think the card turned out looking like spring even though my first thought was Christmas. I used Granny Apple Green for the bunch of wheat, Real Red for the wheat flowers, and Night of Navy for the bow. I used Granny Apple Green Cardstock for the base of my card and added a small piece of Real Red as a border to bring out the red flowers. I also used the Buffalo Check stamp set in the green to make a background. I love this background stamp set just the way it is but I also love that you can add your own lines with Stampin’ Write markers and a ruler to make it a plaid! That’s what I did here using the Night of Navy marker. I choose the “just a note…” sentiment and stamped it in Night of Navy. I used the Classic Label punch to punch it out. I made sure I had enough space on the left side of the sentiment to add one of the small clear epoxy droplets.

* If you are like me and like to use clear-mount instead of wood-mount stamps, the blocks I used for this card were D, E, and G.
