The colors for July’s Color Challenge were no surprise! They are Real Red, Basic White, and Night of Navy! I decided that I didn’t want to make a “Fourth of July” card for this challenge. So I tried several different stamp sets until I ended up using the Kindest Gnomes Bundle. You can find this bundle on page 43 of the new July-December Mini Catalog. I just love these gnomes but I found it hard to ONLY use the red, white, and blue colors!! I would say this color challenge was a true challenge for me!
I wanted to try to incorporate some watercoloring since July is World Watercolor Month and again I found it difficult using ONLY red, white, and blue! That’s when I decided to try a watercolor wash. If you’ve never tried a wash, it is super easy to do. I took one of my clear blocks and put a drop of ink refill on top. Then I took a water painter and let some water drop onto the ink, mixed that together and then painted onto the shimmery white paper. This is the FIFTH card that I made and I decided I liked it the best and submitted it for the challenge. I hope you like it!
