Thank you for visiting TCB Cards! Today I’m sharing with you a card I designed using colors from my team leader’s Color Challenge. These challenges are always SO much fun and they really inspire and challenge me to use colors that I might not have ever paired together! The colors for this month’s challenge are Highland Heather, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. I’m not going to lie…I had a hard time getting started with this challenge! I started out using a stamp set that was more floral but just couldn’t make it work. Pumpkin Pie was really throwing me off for some reason! I decided to pull out my Stampin’ Up! catalog for some inspiration…

As I was perusing the new 2020/2021 annual catalog, I came across the Butterfly Gala stamp set and this card sample that inspired me!  You can find the Butterfly stamp set and this card sample on pages 78 and 79 of the new catalog. You will also see the “Stamp Off” technique I used when stamping my butterflies.

*Contact me If you would like your own copy of the new annual catalog. I would be glad to help you out with that.

Here is the card I designed using the colors from the Color Challenge! If you know me, you know I LOVE purple so I made that my focal color. To make this card, I not only used the Butterfly Gala stamp set but I also used the Butterfly Duet punch that coordinates with the stamp set. Using the duet punch, you are able to  punch out both the large and small butterfly images at the same time which makes it even easier!  To make a back ground I decided to use the Stitched Lace die and I think it turned out great! As I mentioned before, I “stamped off” when stamping the butterflies to get the two-toned look. I really like how it changed the look of the butterflies.

I hope you like the card I designed for June’s Color Challenge. Be looking for the instructions, dimensions, and even a video tutorial for this card in my next post. Can’t wait to share it with you!
