Just like a little black dress, a black & white card never goes out of style! I just love the classic look of a black and white card! This month the NC Demos have created cards that are black & white and always in style! Come hop along to see all the designs!

I was so excited when I found out that the theme for this month was going to be black and white cards! I have been wanting to design a black and white card for a really long time! And now’s my chance! Plus I will get even more inspiration from the other demos that are participating in the hop this month! I hope you enjoy hopping along and that you will be inspired as much as I know I will be!! I just can’t wait to see all the creations! Let me know what you think in the comments!

As soon as I saw the theme for August, I knew that I wanted to use the Quiet Meadow dies to make my card!! I used the Quiet Meadow stamp set as well but only for the sentiment. I also used the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder to add texture to the background.

This card was so fun and super simple to make!! Enjoy this quick recipe from me so that you can make this card yourself!

Card Recipe:
  1. Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and fold in half for card base.
  2. Cut 2 Basic White cardstock pieces to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and glue one piece to the inside of card.
  3. Emboss second white piece with the Brick and Mortar folder and glue to the front of card.
  4. Die cut the flower pieces and butterfly in Basic Black and the label and flower center in Basic White.
  5. Glue the flowers to the front as shown.
  6. Stamp the sentiment on the label and attached it and the butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I couldn’t decide if I liked the Basic Black or the Basic White card base best so I made both! Let me know in the comments which you like best. Everyone that comments will be entered into a drawing to win a card kit for this black & white card! I made a few extra cards using the other die pieces that I didn’t end up using. I think they turned out pretty good too but I like the other flowers best!
