For this month’s blog hop, we were to choose our favorite color or color combination from the 2021-2023 In Color collection. I hope you “hop along” with us to see all of the awesome projects using these beautiful colors. I know I can’t wait to see them!Â
I absolutely love each one of these In Colors for different reasons. If I had to choose my favorite it would be the two greens… Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. The other three colors are Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, and Fresh Freesia and each one is beautiful by itself or paired with other colors. I’m really going to hate to see these colors leave our collection!
I actually ended up designing two cards using some of the 2021-2023 In Colors. Both cards were designed using the Beautifully Happy stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. Right now through February 28, you can earn this stamp set for free with a qualifying order! It is definitely one of my all time favorite Sale-A-Bration sets with its beautiful images and awesome sentiments! Such a versatile set!
My first card design actually uses all of the In Colors except Fresh Freesia. I started with an Evening Evergreen card base. Then I stamped the leaf image in Soft Succulent ink onto Soft Succulent cardstock to create the background. This piece was glued to a Very Vanilla layer. Very Vanilla twine was wrapped around these layers and tied in a bow before glueing to the card base. I used the 2 5/8″ x 4″ Stitched Rectangle die to cut a piece of Very Vanilla then stamped the outline flower images and the sentiment in Evening Evergreen. The flower petals were stamped in Polished Pink and the flower’s center was stamped in Pale Papaya. This piece was adhered using dimensionals and Iridescent Rhinestones were added for bling!
- Evening Evergreen: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Very Vanilla: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, extra piece for rectangle die
- Soft Succulent: 4″ x 5 1/4″
For my second card, I only used Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya. This card starts with a Crumb Cake base. I added a Basic White layer that was embossed using the Pretty Flowers embossing folder. I glued this layer to the card base with the reverse side of the embossed image showing for a different look. On the smaller piece of Basic White, I stamped the leaf image in Soft Succulent, the flower petals in Pale Papaya, and the center of the flower in Crumb Cake. The sentiment and bee were stamped in black. I gave the bee a little color using the flower center stamped in Pale Papaya. This layer was glued to a Soft Succulent layer, wrapped with Linen Thread tied in a bow, and then adhered with dimensionals.
- Crumb Cake: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″; 3 1/4″ x 4″ (for image)
- Soft Succulent: 3 3/8″ x 4 1/8″

Tonya, both of your cards are so pretty, and I love the color combo on the second. I have not been a big Pale Papaya fan, but you may have changed my mind! Thank you for sharing!

I love both of your cards, Tonya. And I keep seeing that stamp set being used and I’m really getting pushed to put it on my list. Although I keep saying no more flower stamps, lol!
Thank you Toni! I know what you mean about flower stamps. I really loved this one though!
Tonya – Beautiful cards! Since you and I have the same two favorite colors (Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen), my favorite is your first card 🙂 I really like how you used the two greens together in the background. I’m going to miss these In Colors, but it will be fun to see the new five colors that we’ll get to use!
Thank you Laurie! Those greens are so awesome. I’m going to miss these In Colors too but am looking forward to see what the new ones are going to be!
